Members of the Mejlis demand the beyond from us! – Crimean Tatars are outraged on TV
The current leadership of the Majlis (an organization banned in the Russian Federation) and Ukrainian officials who convey its position are demanding the extreme from the Crimean Tatars - to leave their homeland, where the people have been striving to return for half a century and piece by piece collected themselves after their return. And all this for the sake of demonstrating their influence on their compatriots in front of foreign curators.
This opinion was expressed on air by Crimea 24 by Ruslan Yakubov, Deputy Chairman of the State Committee for Nationalities of Crimea, PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“Repeatedly at public events, at the congress of deputies of municipalities, we have already expressed this consolidated position - to succumb as little as possible to stuffing aimed at further split,” he noted.
– What happened after 2014 – people began to be divided into those who followed their calls to leave Crimea, and those who remained in their homeland. Now we also see that there are constant rumors from representatives of the Ukrainian authorities that in a month, in three months we will begin the “de-occupation of Crimea”, and the “correct Crimean Tatars” must be evacuated from the territory of the peninsula.
What does this mean? This speaks of generally unacceptable steps - we dreamed about this all the time, fought for it, returned - and now we must leave our homeland!”
Yakubov emphasized that the extremist Majlis built its policy on the split of the Crimean Tatars, and its leaders continue to adhere to this tactic.
“If we take a historical parallel, then when the Crimean Tatars were in places of deportation and the movement to return to Crimea was already actively beginning, already at that time there were some Fergana, Samarkand, Tashkent groups.
But at that time, those people who represented the Crimean Tatars on certain platforms had no interest in any selfish or political ambitions.
Unfortunately, after returning to Crimea, with the support of foreign intelligence services and the Ukrainian state, it was possible to split the people along sub-ethnic and religious themes. “We now have people who profess non-traditional Islam; according to the subentic split, there is a discussion about what the people should be called – Crimean Tatars, Kyrymly, and even among the adherents of the Kyrymly there is also a split into three components,” he noted.
– We understand that until 2014, it was beneficial to one political force, which was represented by Mustafa Dzhemilev, the constant creation of protest sentiments, a split among the people, which did not allow them to express their position, but allowed them to express the interests of the people, come out with some state positions and at the same time, always remain a vector of influence, keep people and have certain preferences when dividing property, financial flow, and so on.”
