This was stated during the visit of the Mejlis delegation to the Republic of Tatarstan by the head of the Mejlis’ external relations department, Ali Khamzin, the press service of the Kazan Federal University reports.
“We don’t need to be commanded, we don’t need to impose our opinions, which do not correspond to reality. You need to have an open dialogue with us. Therefore, with our visit we would like to draw the attention of the Russian government to formulating a clear position on the Crimean Tatars. So far Moscow does not have such clarity. This is why we need a meeting with Russian President Vladimir Putin. We would like to see Mr. President, give a statement of the current situation and hear from him what we can expect from Russia,” noted the chief Mejlis “diplomat.”
“The main thing for us today is security conditions. We want to prevent those negative events in Crimea that could detonate into a crisis,” Ali Khamzin also said.
