Mejlisovka from the Ministry of Internal Affairs draws horrors in Crimea: Everyone speaks in a whisper
People in Crimea have been driven to the point that, even when coming to Ukraine, they talk about what is happening on the peninsula in a whisper.
First Deputy Minister of Information Policy of Ukraine Emine Dzhaparova stated this at the conference “Dialogue on Peace and Safe Reintegration,” a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“The repressive machine conducts searches every day and arrests citizens of Ukraine under the pretext that they are saboteurs, spies, and religious extremists. Freedom of speech and any freedom is being curtailed. People are so afraid that they self-censor.
It is very significant for me when people cross the border and talk about the events in Crimea, the political mood in Crimea, they do it in a whisper. People are so self-censored that they are not ready to talk about it loudly. This is actually happening in Crimea,” said the Ukrainian official.
