The Mejlis grant sucker reported to the State Department
Tamila Tasheva, coordinator of the pro-Ukrainian Crimea SOS movement, which supports anti-Russian elements on the peninsula, was among the first whom US Deputy Secretary of State David Hale met during a visit to Kiev.
Tasheva gave a report to Hale, which she later retold on her blog, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
Tasheva clarified that the meeting with Hale was attended by “representatives of civil society involved in issues of anti-corruption, the electoral process and the occupied territories, in particular Crimea.”
In her report, Tasheva complained about the “militarization of Crimea” (reporting the presence of more than 60 thousand Russian security forces on the peninsula), “replacement and displacement of the population” - the departure of about 60 thousand pro-Ukrainian residents.
Tasheva particularly focused on “continuing pressure on activists and lawyers,” etc.
Moreover, she complained, “we have to fight on two fronts – within the country and with the Russian Federation.”
Tasheva complained that Ukraine had not developed a “de-occupation strategy”, had not established a checkpoint on the border with Crimea, and that discriminatory norms apply to people with Crimean registration, etc.
“We also thanked everyone for the financial and diplomatic support that the United States of America provides to Ukraine,” she did not forget about her curtsey to the overseas boss.
Thank you!
