The general director of the company, Ivan Tavrin, said this in an interview with the Rossiya 24 news channel.
“I think that the conditions under which Megafon could enter the Crimean market need to be divided into two parts. The first is, of course, the economy. “Megafon is a joint-stock company, a public company that is traded on the Moscow and London stock exchanges, and for us, economic activity, wherever we work, of course, prevails,” said the head of Megafon.
According to him, in Crimea the average revenue per subscriber (ARPU) is fundamentally lower than in mainland Russia.
“I heard that in Crimea ARPU is one dollar, from 35 to 40 rubles. Our average ARPU is 10. The second is, of course, the frequency part, the state’s preparation of all kinds of frequency solutions, licensing solutions. Of course, this will take some time,” emphasized Ivan Tavrin.
