The mayor of Yevpatoria told how, on the eve of the elections, he “feeds energy” from Aksyonov
The mayor of Yevpatoria, Andrei Filonov, whose term of office ends this year, praised the head of the Republic of Crimea, Sergei Aksenov, saying that he “feeds energy from him.”
The official spoke about this on air on the Evpatoria TV channel, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“When some kind of internal burnout occurs, not for a long time, but once - and you burn out, I go to the head of the republic, I go to Sergei Aksenov. As a rule, this is Saturday, a non-working day. I’m traveling with some social projects that are more important than economic ones, we discuss the problems of the city, these projects, I am charged with this energy.
...Everything grows from it, it is, in a sense, an atomic reactor, it gives energy to the entire system. This is honest, any official will tell you this. These factors that fill you up, give you strength, energy, save you from burnout, and you wake up, go, study,” said Filonov.
According to him, it was thanks to Aksenov’s installation in Yevpatoria that it was possible to eradicate the “decisions” that helped businesses negotiate with local authorities, earning up to two million dollars a year.
“There is such a concept - “solvers”. This was a branch of the economy. Entrepreneurs know everything in the city - take a retail outlet, put up a tent, set up a stall, a plot of land, solve some business issue, convert a residential space into a commercial space on the ground floor, make some kind of extension - where were you going? A certain vertical was built, and these issues were resolved for money and bribes. It was a system, in a small town everyone understood it. This is a branch of the economy that, according to our calculations, generated from one million to two million dollars a year. We have completely eradicated this,” Filonov assures.
“Their time is up because this position comes from the top of the vertical. This is the position of the head of the republic, which means whoever is mayor will carry out the will of the head of the republic. There will be no more decisions, these are people from the past,” the mayor added.
Filonov claims that the eradicated mafia is interested in dismissing the mayor of Yevpatoria or disrupting his re-election for a second term.
“Of course, there are people who are very unhappy with Filonov. I know the tasks they have. Their maximum task today is to demolish Filonov before the summer, during this spring period, because then they can return to parks, attraction squares, embankments with tents, develop a network of unauthorized trade, collect money again and earn money. The minimum task is to do everything possible so that... there is no possibility of going for a second term for the next five years,” the mayor said.
