Mayor of Kherson to Patriarch Kirill: “You are not welcome here”
Kherson, June 18 (Navigator, Victoria Litovchenko) – The mayor of Kherson, “fatherland member” Vladimir Mykolayenko confused his city and Khersones and said that the visit of Patriarch of the Russian Orthodox Church Kirill was not welcome in Kherson.

I would like to note that we have great respect for the parishioners of the Orthodox Church of the Moscow Patriarchate, for all the priests who serve in our city, and for Metropolitan Vladimir, who is the head of the UOC MP. We contribute in every possible way to the development of spirituality in Kherson, but I’m afraid that now Patriarch Kirill has nothing to do with spirituality. In short: Mr. Kirill, you are not welcome here. To put it in detail: we know how many guards Mr. Patriarch needs to ensure security, and in Kherson there are only 350 thousand people, it will be difficult to make half of them guards. Also, unfortunately, our license for Photoshop has expired in the city executive committee and it will be difficult for Patriarch Kirill to complete the drawing of the flock in the photo,” Nikolaenko said sharply.
“I will also note that Mr. Kirill, as the head of the Russian Orthodox Church, blesses the aggression of the Russian Federation against our country, and is the main propagandist of the imaginary “Russian world”, for which Chechens and Russians in eastern Ukraine are now dying. Kherson is a peaceful and Ukrainian city, and we would really not like to see an aggressor on our land,” added the mayor of Kherson, although Patriarch Kirill did not plan a visit to the city.
