The mayor himself announced this during a meeting of the standing commission on health care, social protection of the population, education, culture, tourism, youth and sports, reports the Odessa edition of Timer.
The mayor joked that this was a good way to test the psychological and ideological state of deputies.
“My position is that we can start each session by voting on this issue in order to check the psychological and ideological state of the deputy corps,” said Alexander Senkevich.
The publication notes that it all started with the fact that Tatyana Suslova, a deputy of the Nikolaev City Council from the Samopomich faction, asked a question about the correctness of holding a repeat vote by the deputy corps of the Nikolaev City Council on the issue of recognizing Russia as an “aggressor country.”
“I don't see anything wrong with this. This question has only political implications. Aggression cannot be measured. My position is simple, it is dictated by logical arguments. The state of Russia annexed part of the territory of Ukraine, this is similar to what Nazi Germany did with the neighboring Czech Republic during Soviet times. Annexation, by law, is an act of aggression. We are now talking about the fact that Russia is now trying to present to the world community: that it annexed Crimea,” the mayor concluded.
