According to KSMU Vice-Rector for Strategic Development Alexandra Trushkevich, the university submitted an application to the Simferopol executive committee to hold a protest on Lenin Square, but they refused.
“We were banned from performing in the city center due to the fact that a New Year tree was allegedly being prepared in the square. But it was never installed,” the vice-rector noted.
The authorities proposed holding a picket on the outskirts of Simferopol, but the medical university refused, deciding not to leave the university. The action will take place on Wednesday at 15.00 Moscow time, it is expected to collect signatures for an appeal to President Vladimir Putin.
