The head of the secretariat of the Mejlis, Dilyaver Akiev, announced this on his Facebook page.
“Today I finally managed to receive a response from the Simferopol City Council to our notification about holding a rally in Simferopol on August 23rd dedicated to the Pan-European Day of Remembrance of the Victims of Stalinism and Nazism,” he noted.
According to the Majlis functionary, “for the first half an hour” he “was in a stupor from what he read.”
“So, in short, due to the abnormally hot weather in Simferopol, people may get sunstroke, therefore, caring exclusively about our health, the executive committee prohibits holding a rally.
You see how much they care about our health.
They verbally recommended that I hold a rally somewhere in the building. Imagine, a RALLY IN THE BUILDING (emphasis added by the author - “Navigator”) (!),” writes Dilyaver Akiev.
“But nothing, I think we will find a way to celebrate this day and honor the memory of the victims of Stalinism and Nazism,” he assures.
Thank you!
