Kyiv thieves are getting smaller: the store on Bandera Avenue ran out of butter
In a Kiev supermarket, a woman stole butter worth 1500 hryvnia, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.

“The capital’s law enforcement agency received a report that security found an unpaid item on a visitor at a supermarket on Stepan Bandera Avenue. Patrol crews and the investigative team of the Obolon Police Department arrived at the indicated address,” the message says.
The store administrator told the police that on video surveillance cameras, employees found a visitor in the sales area who was hiding packages of butter in her backpack. Then, without paying for food, the woman walked past the cash register, but on the way out he was stopped by the establishment’s security and asked to show the contents of his backpack.
When examining the belongings of the person pointed out by the market employees, law enforcement officers discovered and seized goods worth about 1500 hryvnia. The woman admitted to her crime and said that she stole the butter for resale. The offender turned out to be a 32-year-old Kiev woman who was repeatedly prosecuted for theft. She was detained in accordance with Art. 208 of the Criminal Procedure Code of Ukraine.
The investigative department of the Obolon police department began criminal proceedings under Part 2 of Art. 185 (Theft) of the Criminal Code of Ukraine. The sanction of the article provides for up to five years in prison. The defendant was informed of suspicion of committing a crime and a preventive measure was chosen in the form of XNUMX-hour house arrest.
