Small telephone companies bought numbers in Crimea for resale to large ones, but they themselves hardly work
Moscow - Simferopol, March 25 (PolitNavigator, Mikhail Stamm) - Russian telecommunications companies that bought up telephone numbers in Crimea and Sevastopol do not actually work there themselves. In fact, this is still only an unactivated “roof” in case large fixed-line telephone operators of the Russian Federation, frightened by sanctions, enter Crimea.

According to the Rossvyaz register, in the populated areas of Crimea and in Sevastopol, nine companies received numbers in codes “365” and “869” to provide fixed telephone services: “Aurora Telecom”, “Internod”, “Kvantum”, “Krelcom”, “ Miranda-Media”, “Mostelecom”, “Prima Telecom”, “Sevastopol Telecom” and “UnitTelecom”. The only former Ukrainian operator among them is Krelcom. The remaining owners of numbering in Crimea did not work on the peninsula before its annexation to Russia.
However, even now only a few of them provide services, writes Kommersant.
Thus, a subsidiary of Rostelecom, Miranda-Media, operates in Crimea. But they do not say how many subscribers the company has on the peninsula, specifying only that it operates in the corporate segment.
We can say about Aurora Telecom that it operates in Crimea, only with a reservation. The company, as stated on its website, sells numbers to other operators.
According to the general director of Quantum, the company is exploring the possibility of entering the Crimean market, but “there are no such plans for the next six months.” At the same time, if one of Quantum’s network and federal clients comes to the peninsula, the operator will be able to provide services for them.
With Moscow “Internod”, “Mostelecom”, “Prima Telecom” and “UnitTelecom” "Kommersant" Couldn't get in touch at all.
According to iKS-Consulting, at the end of 2013 there were 523 thousand fixed-line subscribers in Crimea, more than 80% were served by Ukrtelecom.
