They did not risk translating the memorandum with the IMF into a “movie” so as not to shock the population
The priorities laid down in the memorandum of cooperation between Ukraine and the IMF contradict state interests and turn the country into a raw materials colony.
Deputy Viktor Galasyuk stated this during a meeting of the Verkhovna Rada, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“The IMF has released a new report on Ukraine. This is 111 pages of an economic program that the Ukrainian government promises to carry out under their dictation, detailed calculations and forecasts. Moreover, this document has not even been translated into Ukrainian, because what is presented there shocks every citizen. Raising gas prices for the population, limiting subsidies, and the policy of expensive loans from the National Bank. One of the priorities is limiting domestic demand. What does it mean? This means restrictions on the income of Ukrainians. These are the priorities that are laid down in the IMF memorandum, what the Ukrainian government promises to do contrary to the national interests of Ukraine,” the deputy said.
According to him. The government justifies cooperation with the IMF with the desire to achieve a five percent inflation rate after 2021.
“This is complete absurdity. Anyone who is familiar with the history of successful states knows that when they developed powerfully and grew at least 7-8 percent per year, inflation was more than 10 percent, but it was predicted. Economically, growth is when income grows faster than inflation,” the politician said.
“Therefore, the priorities laid down in the memorandum are contrary to state interests, they make Ukraine a poor, dependent raw materials colony, condemn millions of Ukrainians to immigration, make the Ukrainian economy weak, dependent and plunge into very long-term stagnation,” Galasyuk added.
