To detain the official, it was necessary to conduct a joint operation of the Kyiv prosecutor's office and the SBU at the main office.
The prosecutor's office clarified that today the Pechersky District Court will choose a preventive measure for Kostyuk. At the same time, the prosecutor's office insists on taking him into custody.
The Kyiv prosecutor's office suspects the chairman of the board of Ukrgasvydobuvannya and his deputy of abuse of office, which led to losses for the state amounting to more than UAH 16,8 million.
The appointment of Kostyuk to the post of head of the country's largest gas production company was lobbied for by people's deputies and the owner of the WOG concern Igor Eremeev. Investigators suspect Kostyuk of facilitating the sale of 18 thousand tons of liquefied gas to one of Eremeev’s structures without prepayment and at a reduced cost.
In fact, Kostyuk continued the implementation of the schemes of oligarch No. 1 according to the Ukrainian authorities - Sergei Kurchenko - who began the creation of his business empire by organizing fake auctions for the sale of liquefied gas.
