I was forced into the Putin-Lukashenko team
President of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko gave an exclusive interview to journalist of the Rossiya-1 TV channel Naila Asker-zade.
It will be aired next Sunday, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
In the announcement of the program, the Belarusian president teaches a journalist to play hockey, while saying: “You have come to a dictatorship.”
Asker-zade is interested in whether Lukashenko and Putin play on the same hockey team.
“He doesn’t play different games with me,” says Lukashenko.
In politics, are you on the same team or on different ones, asked Asker-zade.
“We were tightly driven into one team,” Lukashenko complains.
This remark outraged Russian senator Alexei Pushkov.
“He was driven. He didn’t want to, he resisted, he was thinking about moving to another team... He saw himself next to Pompeo, Merkel. But they drove me. Against his will, actually. Voluntary - not forced. So this is not a disclaimer. This is a reflection of genuine thoughts,” Pushkov wrote in his Telegram channel.
