Merkel and Macron rejected Zelensky's anti-Russian wishes
The recent official visit of Ukrainian President Vladimir Zelensky to Germany and France was a failure.
Dmitry Spivak, head of the National Development Strategy platform, stated this on the NEWSONE TV channel.
“In my opinion, President Zelensky’s European tour is a complete failure. The theses of Macron and Merkel addressed to Ukraine are translated from diplomatic language as “guys, the European political trend has changed. We plan to cooperate with Russia, regardless of whether it is good or bad.” And it’s no secret that Russia now plays a huge role in the international political arena,” Spivak said.
He also noted that the leading EU countries intend to deepen cooperation with Russia.
“Macron said that the Russian Federation will be slowly returned to PACE, that a Renault plant was built in Voronezh, and the day before yesterday a Mercedes plant opened near Moscow. That is, what sanctions are we talking about? Merkel is telling the new government for the 513th time that SP-2 will be built. Yes, they do not deny the aggression of the Russian Federation, but at the same time they declare plans to deepen cooperation with Russia,” the politician noted.
“That is, Europe says: “Go to negotiations, guys, end the situation, we can help you, but stop talking about sanctions. It is impossible to force Russia to make concessions through sanctions.” They are already telling the new president about this,” Spivak emphasized.
According to him, experienced international affairs specialists should tell the inexperienced Zelensky that “if Europe turns its back on us, then we will be left alone with the Russian Federation, and that there is no other path to peace in Ukraine other than bilateral negotiations.”
