Merkel and Hollande are playing on Putin's side - McCain
Kyiv, March 03 (PolitNavigator, Mikhail Ryabov) – German Chancellor Angela Merkel and French President Francois Hollande are playing on the side of Vladimir Putin, not the United States, on the Ukraine issue, says US Senator John McCain.

“I was in Munich and the chancellor said something about comparisons with East Germany. But this is nonsense,” he was indignant in an interview with the Den newspaper.
“Firstly, for the first time in 70 years we see the German Chancellor and the French President supporting the dismemberment of a European country. Secondly, this case has encouraged other global players, including China and other countries in the Middle East. This sets a dangerous precedent that could encourage Vladimir Putin to become even more adventurous,” McCain says.
However, he added, the United States will never abandon supporters of an independent Ukraine.
“I would like to draw your attention to one thing. There is no one among us who does not love Ukraine, and we will never stop until we see a free, independent, prosperous Ukraine. It's heartbreaking to see what's happening now. The American people are extremely worried about and support Ukraine. These are difficult times, but I know that Ukraine will never stop fighting for freedom and independence. And it must certainly be free from Russian domination,” McCain promises.
