Merkel deceived Poroshenko
In Germany they don’t know what to expect from the new President of Ukraine Vladimir Zelensky.
This was stated in a commentary to UNN by German journalist Boris Reitschuster, who previously said that German Chancellor Angela Merkel plunged a knife into Ukraine's back.
“What do they expect in Germany? It feels like nothing, unfortunately. In the political class, it seems, they would prefer to continue working with Poroshenko, because they know him, unlike Zelensky. But there will be normal working relationships with both. With Poroshenko, the continuation is in the old style - he practically closed his eyes, or at least his mouth, about the fact that Merkel “dumped” him with “Nord Stream 2” (and not only).
Maybe some of us are afraid that Zelensky will be less silent in this regard. But this is by no means a fact. Nobody knows how Zelensky will act as president. But the campaign showed how far Poroshenko is from the people,” said the agency’s interlocutor.
He also convinces that Ukraine needs to fulfill the demands of the Maidan activists, announced during the 2014 coup.
“I am deeply confident that if this change does not happen, the Maidan legacy will be lost. This will be a disaster for the country, and a great joy for Putin,” Reitschuster fears.
