This opinion was expressed at a press conference in Kyiv, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports, by Andrey Vidishenko, an international political scientist, an expert at the Kyiv Center for Political Studies and Conflict Studies, and a member of the Royal Institute of International Relations (Chatham House).
“Merkel’s task now is to win the elections and complete the integration of the eurozone. Also, for the first time in 12 years, Madam Chancellor saw the light. It’s difficult for her now; she has to take fate into her own hands, since, as Frau Merkel said, she can’t rely on Trump now. And here hovers the shadow of Karl Haushofer, and behind it the shadow of the continentalist worldview. These are interesting aspects. Considering that this is the first time in 12 years that Madam Chancellor has made such a harsh statement, this will play an important role in the development of these processes,” the political scientist predicts.
