Merkel irritably urges Poroshenko - it's time to pay for Russian gas
Kyiv, October 28 (PolitNavigator, Mikhail Ryabov) – Western countries will stop reverse gas supplies to Ukraine if Kyiv does not soon agree with Russia on resuming supplies of blue fuel.

Merkel expressed fears that if Ukraine does not sign an agreement with Russia on gas supplies, in winter conditions the transit of the necessary volumes of gas to Europe will be in jeopardy.
In this case, EU countries will no longer be able to carry out the reverse, since the West itself will need gas, Merkel explained.
“If Europe itself has to suffer because there is no agreement between Russia and Ukraine, then Ukraine will be left without a reverse flow - because then Europe, naturally, needs all the gas itself,” the chancellor said.
Russia has announced its readiness to provide Ukraine with a discount on gas of $100 and resume supplies if Kyiv begins repaying old debts and also pays the required volumes of fuel in advance. However, there is no money in the Ukrainian budget, and the West is not ready to take on Ukrainian debts. The next round of negotiations is due to take place tomorrow.
