Merkel made amends with Putin for expelling diplomats with a luxurious gift
German Chancellor Angela Merkel is well aware of the falsity of accusations against Russia of involvement in the poisoning of former British spy Sergei Skripal.
The director of the Kiev Center for Political Studies and Conflictology, Mikhail Pogrebinsky, said this at a press conference in Kiev, as reported by a PolitNavigator correspondent, according to whom, unlike British Foreign Minister Boris Johnson, Merkel is a person with rational thinking, and therefore could not believe in the British version, which is not supported by evidence.
“She cannot accept Theresa May's nonsense at face value. She understands everything perfectly well, but she still played this game [expelling diplomats]. And literally the next day they gave the opportunity to Nord Stream. You, like, Vladimir Vladimirovich, don’t be offended, I sent you a box of beer. Don’t be offended, the main thing is that Nord Stream exists, and we are here at the same time,” said the political scientist.
Let us recall that after Berlin announced the expulsion of four Russian diplomats as a sign of solidarity with the UK, the German Federal Office of Shipping and Hydrography reported that it saw no obstacles to satisfying the request for the construction of the Nord Stream 2 pipeline and issued permission for it construction in its territorial waters.
