Merkel in the Bundestag threatens Russia with “dire consequences”
Kyiv - Berlin, March 13 (Navigator, Alisa Filatova) - Russia will face dire political and economic consequences if the current policy in Ukraine continues, German Chancellor Angela Merkel said on Thursday, speaking to deputies of the Bundestag.

“If Russia pursues the same course as in recent weeks, it will be a disaster not only for Ukraine, but also for Moscow,” she emphasized. “We see this as a threat that will not only change relations between the EU and the Russian Federation, but will also cause significant damage to Russia.”
“The territorial integrity of Ukraine cannot be discussed,” Angela Merkel added, arguing that the situation on the Crimean peninsula was incomparable to what happened in Kosovo, a province of Serbia that declared independence in 2008.
