Kyiv, August 25 (Navigator, Kirill Boyarin) – Angela Merkel’s visit to Kyiv turned out to be empty, since Ukrainian President Petro Poroshenko rejected all proposals that could form the basis for a peaceful resolution of the conflict in Donbass.

So says political scientist Rostislav Ishchenko.

“There is no sense in Merkel’s visit to Ukraine. Considering that she offered Poroshenko federalization and everything else, and this does not suit the Ukrainian government and all the forces involved in the coup that control this government. How all this can be implemented is not clear to me, therefore, even if Poroshenko wanted to implement what Europe proposed, he would not be able to do this, because Ukrainian society would not accept him. Therefore, Merkel simply informed that the European Union will no longer be particularly concerned about the problems of Ukraine,” says Rostislav Ishchenko.
