“The situation in Crimea has been in the 90s for a long time. What is happening now is the worst version of the 90s. State structures took the place of the bandits. The only structure that is able to cope with this is the FSB, and even then it is under constant administrative pressure. Extreme measures are needed.
At one time, I dismissed the entire government, threw out the Minister of Internal Affairs and the head of the security service, replacing them with Russian generals. Now the situation is similar.
Koktebel is the refuge of Mogilev (ex-head of the department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Ukraine in Crimea during the time of Viktor Yanukovych - ed.). He established his residence there and cooperates well with our current administration. He was and remains an influential person. I don't know if he is connected with this, I don't have such data. But they want to destroy Koktebel and build a quarry; Mogilev chose this place for his residence,” Meshkov said.
