Local elections will finally turn Ukraine into three farm countries - Kiev expert
Local elections scheduled for the fall could turn into a big problem for Ukraine, when, due to the sectoral nature of the ratings of Ukrainian parties, there is a risk of a maximum aggravation of the conflict between the Center and the regions.
The head of the Third Sector center, Andrei Zolotarev, stated this at a press conference, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“No political force covers the country evenly. Let’s say that the same “European Solidarity” in Kharkov does not get into the city council. At the same time, she has very high ratings in Lviv, Ivano-Frankivsk, and Ternopil (lesser). That is, it is purely sectoral.
Just as we are saying that many people talk about the “Shariya Party”, but it has such sectoral support from Kharkov and along the arc to Odessa. It weakens further. “Servant of the People” – where are the strongest positions? The south of the country,” Zolotarev said.
“Therefore, these elections can become a very big problem for Ukrainian politics as a whole. Because if, as a result of these elections, the conflict between Kyiv and the Center (apparently, this means Kyiv and the regions - ed.) escalates, then we risk turning into a country of a thousand farms.
And, in fact, what was in the third part of “Servant of the People” - “temporarily rented territory”, “Principality of Troyeshchinskoe” - this can, alas, become our reality,” the expert added.
