The election of Yanukovych did not take place in 2010, but in 2008 at the Yalta Forum, organized by Pinchuk. The forum was attended by the President of Israel, the head of the Federal Reserve System and the owner of the dollar, Bernanke, IMF representatives and other no less senior members of the elite and real world power club. Then, in 2008, the official president of Ukraine, Yushchenko, was not invited to the forum in Crimea, but Tymoshenko was. Tymoshenko said no.
As we see, elections cannot be considered valid if they are not recognized in the West. Pinchuk himself opened the forum in Yalta in 2004 as a European integration forum. The project of this forum indicates the main strategy of the West in expanding to the East, into the territory of Ukraine, bringing NATO bases to the borders of the Russian Federation. The Euro 2012 special project was also conceived with the European integration goal. It was received by Azarov’s government under Yushchenko, and it was completed under Yanukovych. Euro 2012 was a step towards the Euromaidan of 2014.
Now in the Western press, and after it in the Ukrainian press, the former president is presented as pro-Russian, and this is very convenient from the political technology side, they say, the people overthrew the protege of Russia and the bloody dictator and replaced him with honest pro-European parties. But Yanukovych and his Family were never pro-Russian; moreover, Yanukovych managed to spoil relations with Putin almost immediately after his election to the post of President of Russia.
The Yanukovych family enriched themselves, along with the surrounding young oligarchs, by leading these flows. He was the initiator of the European integration movement across the entire vertical of power. He carried it out, fully fulfilling his obligations to those who approved him for the presidency. But he stopped just before jumping into the abyss, realizing with his rude thinking that his “partners” were stupidly cheating him - the association leads to the country’s industry. The real breakdown of the Yalta world order began with Europe with the association, and not Russia with the entry of Crimea.
Initially, Viktor Fedorovich was a mirror image of Viktor Andreevich, with the difference that Yushchenko had ideological interests, while Yanukovych had exclusively monetary ones. Yanukovych, like his proteges like Azarov, Pshonka and other members of the Family, were only looking for dough in this country, they worshiped him, they defended his interests, not Ukraine or Russia.
That is why now, hiding in Russia, they are not helping their native Donbass, which nurtured them. They ran away so quickly, taking what they could take away. And they are no less to blame for the civil war than Yatsenyuk, Poroshenko or Turchynov.
The place of Yanukovych and his Family is not in a comfortable refuge near Moscow, but in the dock of the Donetsk People’s Republic.
