“Residents report that last night the town of Shchastya, located in the Zhovtnevy district of Lugansk, came under fire. According to their information, on the morning of September 3, the sounds of shell explosions were also heard in Shchastya, and destruction of residential buildings and other city infrastructure was recorded,” the press service of the city council reports.
In the regional center, fighting and shelling do not stop. According to eyewitnesses, houses were damaged along the streets: Ochakovskaya, Lineva, in the Yuzhny and Gaevogo quarters, and there was also damage to residential buildings in the village of Yubileiny and other areas.
Food, medicine and fuel are still not being supplied to the city. People have run out of cash, and salaries, pensions and social benefits have not been paid for a long time.
“In the first half of the day, minibuses travel in Lugansk, people leave their houses to buy the most necessary food products. The problem of lack of water in the regional center remains acute; it has appeared on the lower floors of some houses and flows by gravity,” the city council notes.
According to local residents, with all this, there are certain changes. “Roads have begun to be repaired in Lugansk. There is water in my area,” people write on Twitter accounts.
As PolitNavigator reported, on August 22, humanitarian aid from Russia arrived in Lugansk.
