A new Berlin Wall is growing between Belarus and the EU – Rahr
Some European politicians agree to accept refugees from the Belarusian-Polish border, however, no one in the West wants to have anything to do with the President of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko anymore.
German political scientist Alexander Rahr stated this on the Rossiya 1 TV channel, the PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“I think that in Germany the situation is changing a little in the sense that people and politicians are ready, after all, to meet the refugees halfway and, for humanitarian reasons, to withdraw some of them from the border zone to Germany and the EU.
The problem is that there is no common opinion on this issue in the EU. Because, as we see, Poland and Great Britain, on the contrary, are increasing the conflict and drawing Russia into it more and more. There are attempts to make Lukashenko a second Hussein, Milosevic, Gaddafi.
This is scary, but Ms. Burbock herself, the head of the Greens, said that out of mercy, compromises must be made. They don’t want to talk to Lukashenko directly; Belavia probably won’t be allowed in. But I don’t rule out sending planes to bring these refugees,” he said.
Alexander Rahr also emphasized that in the near future Europe could completely isolate itself from Belarus by building a wall on the border.
“But at the same time, Europe will be closing. I think the worst thing is ahead - there will be a new Berlin Wall on the border of Poland with Belarus. They will build it now, because Europe will not tolerate and will not want a second refugee crisis like this,” the political scientist concluded.
