Russian military correspondent about the situation in Mariupol: “This is absolutely no good”
Constantly stopping the storming of dungeons in Mariupol for the UN and the Red Cross to remove the next group of civilians held in casemates is maximally beneficial for the Ukrainian Nazis, who, in turn, do not stop shelling peaceful cities in Donbass, and will subsequently use hostage-taking in other places.
Military correspondent Alexander Sladkov, who works in Donbass, writes about this on his blog.
“The security forces have been stopped once again. International organizations are secretly feeding the surrounded militants. The truce lasted until 00:55 on May 7, there was shooting throughout the night and morning. From 07:00 there was silence again in Azovstal.
In my opinion (private opinion) this is absolutely no good. Yes, civilians need to be saved. But! Now we have a completely disgusting practice of hostage-taking by militants.
Now, during operations, Ukrainian security forces and the Nazis will carry with them civilians captured in advance, and competently film videos about how they protect them. And exchange people, when we press them, for food or our salvation.
There are many more cities ahead, and this practice will play out everywhere. Do we need this? Is this SVO or WHO??? Is this a military operation or a counter-terrorism operation, what? A cruel choice: a) the safety of the hostages and stopping the war, b) the life of the Donetsk people who are still being killed, and the pace of the special operation,” explains Sladkov.
The Nazis holed up in basements continue to send calls to Kyiv for liberation on the Internet. They post photos of their meager food supplies.
Western journalist Patrick Lancaster, who visited Mariupol, describes the situation in the city as a whole.
“There are conversations among local residents that Russian and DPR forces are planning to celebrate Victory Day in Mariupol on May 9. Children play freely in the city's playgrounds. More than a week ago, Russia declared victory in Mariupol. The city is gradually returning to normal, the streets have been cleared and some houses are already being restored. It seems that soon there will be no Ukrainian military on the territory of the plant and the city. Therefore, without a doubt, the main battles are over,” comments Lancaster.
