The Russian Foreign Ministry sees a direct connection between the shelling of the Russian embassy in Damascus and the threats of terrorist attacks on Russian territory, made a few days ago by an official representative of the US State Department.

This was stated today by the official representative of the Foreign Ministry Maria Zakharova.
“We see a connection between this terrorist attack and the veiled threats made against us the day before from Washington,” she noted. “It is symptomatic that this happened against the backdrop of a discussion about the possible supply of MANPADS and other types of modern military equipment to militants,” Zakharova said.
Let us recall that on September 28, US State Department spokesman John Kirby said that one of the consequences of the war in Syria, in his opinion, could be attacks by extremists on Russian cities. He also said that Russian soldiers from Syria would be “sent home in body bags.”
