A war of nerves has begun between Trump and Zelensky
US will not completely cancel military aid supplies to Ukraine - President Donald Trump just checked the program, to get on the nerves of the Ukrainian leadership with a demand to share information about the role of the son of ex-Vice President Joe Biden in the gas business in Ukraine.
Ukrainian political scientist Ruslan Bortnik said this on air on the Topinform channel, the PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
"He (US President Donald Trump - ed.) has not frozen military aid, they are auditing it. That is, it will be allocated, I guarantee you that. Trump would never or will not risk playing along with Russia during the election period, from the point of view of his opponents, by not giving Ukraine military assistance,” the expert said.
“This is more of a stone in the garden of his predecessors, and this is largely a game around helping Ukraine, this is the “fault” of Zelensky himself, because, remember, what does Trump and his entourage want - Bolton coming, Volcker? Everyone, albeit indirectly, is demanding: give the case to Biden.
Zelensky does not want to play this game yet. That’s why they conduct an audit, which is why some problems arise with the United States. But Trump will not be able to refuse help; he has no choice, I think. Zelensky understands this very well, which is why his team continues this game. But it’s still more likely that he will side with Trump,” Bortnik added.
