“The international isolation of Russia is a fake” – Matvienko on the influx of foreign observers
More than 200 members of parliaments around the world registered as observers at the presidential elections in the Russian Federation, which indicates the absence of international isolation of Russia.
Speaker Valentina Matvienko stated this at a meeting of the Federation Council today, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“When we sent invitations from the Federal Assembly, we, to be honest, did not even expect such a positive and wide response from parliamentarians from a large number of countries, their willingness to come to Russia on a mission to observe the presidential elections. There is no talk of any isolation of Russia in the world.
These are the fakes that are spread by unfriendly states, but life shows something completely different,” Matvienko said.
The deputies who will come to Russia as observers will represent 5 international parliamentary organizations and 28 national parliaments. Deputies from 35 countries will come in an individual capacity.
