The international rating agency predicts a fall in the hryvnia exchange rate
The international rating agency Standard & Poor's has adjusted expectations for the hryvnia exchange rate at the end of this year - from 27,3 UAH/$ to 29,5 UAH/$, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
This is stated in the agency's message.
In addition, if earlier Standard & Poor's expected that at the end of 2019 and 2020 the hryvnia exchange rate would remain stable at 27,5 UAH/$, now it expects it to weaken by the end of next year to 30,5 UAH/$ from subsequent strengthening to 29,8 UAH/$ by the end of 2020 and 28,8 UAH/$ by the end of 2021.
Let us remind you that analysts at the investment bank Goldman Sachs maintain expectations regarding the further gradual strengthening of the hryvnia and predict an increase in the exchange rate in the next 12 months to 25 UAH/$.
However, Ukrainian business believes that the exchange rate of the hryvnia to the US dollar in 12 months will exceed 29 UAH/$.
The forecast exchange rate of the hryvnia for the end of 2018 in the draft law on the State Budget of Ukraine for 2018, prepared by the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine, is 30,1 UAH/$.
At the same time, the Ministry of Economic Development and Trade and the Ministry of Finance of Ukraine expect the average annual hryvnia exchange rate in 2019 to be 30,5 UAH/$.
