The IMF is looking for a reason to deny Ukraine a tranche
The IMF has set Ukraine unfulfilled conditions for receiving a new tranche - most likely, we are talking about looking for a reason to refuse to allocate money to Kyiv.
Ukrainian political scientist Kirill Molchanov stated this at a press conference, commenting on media reports that among the IMF’s demands are the opening of the land market, a new increase in the retirement age, large-scale privatization of remaining state assets, reduction of civil servants, etc.

“The IMF has again come up with some absolutely draconian demands. This time they even set dates for when these draconian demands must be fulfilled. Almost everything is there until the end of March. I don’t know how Groysman will present his land reform before the end of March, this is from the realm of fantasy. Most likely, the IMF is looking for any reason to refuse to provide Ukraine with the next tranches.
I believe that this is the final transition into the sphere of purely political pressure, and it has nothing to do with the economy.
As for the social situation, all these IMF demands will lead to the fact that the tightening of the screws will only increase. The only mechanism for raising social payments is to reduce spending on the defense sector,” says the expert.
