“Ukraine is still unsuccessfully trying to convince representatives of the guarantor countries of the so-called “its vision of the road map,” which proposes to significantly change the implementation procedure and the very essence of previously signed documents within the framework of the Minsk agreements. In addition, despite the considerable excitement artificially created by Ukrainian representatives regarding the introduction of an armed police mission, this issue is still not on the agenda and was not touched upon in the discussion of the heads of the Normandy Format Foreign Ministry. Thus, all attempts by Kyiv to pass off wishful thinking were once again stopped yesterday,” she said.
Answering a question about the prospect of approving the “road map” of the Minsk agreements, the head of the DPR Foreign Ministry admitted: “there is little chance that this will be done in the outgoing year.”
However, Nikonorova expressed hope that the Ukrainian leadership will still “find the strength to stop ignoring its international legal obligations and begin a constructive dialogue in the Minsk format.”
