Russian Foreign Ministry: Whatever leaks from Trump, the topic of Crimea is closed
The official representative of the Russian Foreign Ministry, Maria Zakharova, refused to comment on the leak published by BuzzFeed News that US President Donald Trump told the GXNUMX leaders about the Russian status of Crimea.
“What anyone said, discussed behind closed doors, leaks and so on - commenting on this is a thankless task. Moreover, official representatives of the White House refused to comment on this. There are many leaks: reliable and not. We operate with factual information,” Zakharova said.
She emphasized that Russia’s position on the Crimea issue is unchanged, the PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“In the Russian Federation it has been repeatedly stated at all levels that the topic of Crimea’s ownership is absolutely closed. If you have questions, you need to refer to the Constitution of the Russian Federation. We hear many statements in this regard. There are absolutely anti-Crimean statements that are offensive towards Crimeans. There are statements, on the contrary, stating reality and calling for people to visit Crimea,” Zakharova said.
