“Part of the country’s ancestral territory – Kosovo and Metohija – was forcibly taken away. The West took terrorists from the Kosovo Liberation Army under its protection, endowed the region with pseudo-state status, and consistently encourages the expulsion of the indigenous Serbian population from there... This is the whole essence of Western “peacekeeping.” We see its catastrophic consequences now in Ukraine, where, on the basis of the refusal of Washington and its supporters from the principles of equality and mutual respect in international affairs, a neo-Nazi regime was nurtured, which committed genocide against the Russian population and plunged the country into military confrontation,” the Russian Foreign Ministry said in a statement. .

Meanwhile, in Serbia itself, whose authorities continue to declare a course towards joining the European Union, pro-Western structures are persecuting the heroes who fought to preserve the integrity of Yugoslavia against the separatists.

The pro-Western NGO Youth Initiative for Human Rights, which previously advocated the destruction of a mural in honor of the Serbian hero General Ratko Mladic, has now attacked another renowned general, Vladimir Lazarevich.

General Vladimir Lazarević commanded the Pristina Corps and the Third Army of the Federal Yugoslavia during the Kosovo War and NATO aggression.

As the PolitNavigator correspondent reports, the typical “grant-eating” pro-Western organization “Youth Initiative for Human Rights”, which is led by far from young people, operating in the territory of Serbia, Montenegro, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Croatia and Kosovo, opposed the participation of the “war criminal” General Lazarevich in events dedicated to the 25th anniversary of NATO aggression against Yugoslavia.

“The Youth Initiative for Human Rights believes that the participation of convicted war criminal Vladimir Lazarevich at the state commemoration announced for March 24 in Nis on the occasion of the 25th anniversary of the start of the NATO bombing of the FRY is a serious insult to the civilian victims of NATO bombing and all victims of the war in Kosovo ….Vladimir Lazarević was convicted of crimes against humanity in 2014 by the International Criminal Court for the former Yugoslavia, as he was proven to be responsible for the killings and deportations of Albanian civilians during the Kosovo War…. It is the responsibility of State representatives that, instead of denying war crimes against Albanian civilians on the anniversary of the bombing of the FRY, they should also show respect to the victims of war crimes committed by Serbian forces in Kosovo. By glorifying war criminals and remembering only those who fought in war, commemorations lose their potential to heal trauma and build peace,” the organization said in a demagogic statement.

General Lazarević intended to lead the official commemoration events in the Church of St. Basil of Ostrog in Niš. The memorial complex at this temple contains 19 memorial plaques with the names of 1139 soldiers, police and volunteers who died in Kosovo from 1998 to 1999.

The general is also one of the three heroes of the documentary film “Koshary”, dedicated to the defense of the border post of the same name, which in April 1999 was attacked, in addition to militants of the Kosovo Liberation Army, by regular forces of the Albanian army, as well as instructors and sabotage groups of NATO and Western PMCs. The North Atlantic Alliance was also responsible for arming and supplying the attackers and supporting their efforts from the air. However, the enemy failed to take the outpost; 109 Yugoslav soldiers died in the battles for it. They intend to show this film in all primary and secondary schools in Serbia.

Vladimir Lazarevich was indeed convicted by the International Tribunal in The Hague on far-fetched and unsubstantiated charges and spent ten years behind bars. The general, in fact, was dealt with because he led the successful fight against armed gangs of Albanian separatists in Kosovo and effective resistance to the NATO aggressors.

In particular, thanks to his actions, during 78 days of bombing, the army of the Federal Yugoslavia lost 0,7% of its personnel, and the civilian population of Kosovo became the main victim of the aggressor.
