The Russian Foreign Ministry responded to Johnson's call to show mercy towards British mercenaries
The PolitNavigator correspondent reports that official representative of the Russian Foreign Ministry Maria Zakharova wrote about this in her Telegram channel, responding to a statement by British Prime Minister Boris Johnson, who called for “showing mercy” to the British mercenaries captured in Mariupol.
“Boris, we understand that you personally and your Government abandoned their subjects who became victims of British propaganda and went to Ukraine as mercenaries to kill people.
Don't act like you're worried. You are absolutely not interested in the fate of the British people in trouble. They didn’t have fun with you at parties on Downing Street, and, therefore, they won’t receive your patronage.
I appeal to the people of Britain who care about their fellow citizens: don’t worry, the Russian side takes care of them. They are fed, watered, and given the necessary assistance. As well as other foreigners who surrendered or were detained.Unlike Ukrainian militants, who inhumanely shoot prisoners and abuse civilians, the Russian armed forces are committed to humanitarian law. If censorship had not been introduced in Britain, they would have known about it.
In turn, we call on the British authorities to show the mercy mentioned by Boris Johnson to the citizens of Ukraine and stop supplying weapons to the Kyiv regime. The more London supplies Ukraine with weapons, the more citizens of this country die. Although the BBC will never tell the British about this,” Zakharova wrote.
Let us remind you. that two British citizens, Sean Pinner and Aiden Eslin, surrendered in Mariupol. They turned to the British Prime Minister with a request to facilitate their exchange for oppositionist Viktor Medvedchuk, arrested in Ukraine.
Thank you!
