The Russian Foreign Ministry conveyed “Minsk greetings” to the presumptuous Prystaiko
Russia hopes that the statements of the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine regarding the possibility unilateral withdrawal from the Minsk agreements – just the personal opinion of a Ukrainian diplomat.
Official representative of the Russian Foreign Ministry Maria Zakharova stated this during a briefing, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“I was surprised by Kyiv’s tossing around amendments to decentralization; they were twice introduced to the Verkhovna Rada and twice withdrawn. In fact, they are not talking about decentralization, but about the reform of the administrative-territorial structure and strengthening the powers of the center, and there is not a word about Donbass.
“I would also like to remind you that according to the Minsk agreements, Kyiv must discuss the future of Donbass and its status, decentralization and reform of the Constitution in direct dialogue with Donetsk and Lugansk,” Zakharova said.
“Against this background, one cannot but be concerned about the voices heard in favor of revising the Minsk agreements, including the corresponding statements made by Foreign Minister Prystaiko.
We hope that he expressed his personal opinion, we also hope that he knows that the participants in the Normandy summit in Paris, including the President of Ukraine, once again confirmed that there is no alternative to the Package of Measures.
We expect that in the coming period the Ukrainian authorities will focus on the consistent implementation of all its provisions,” added the Foreign Ministry representative.
