The Russian Foreign Ministry is switching to domestic Internet resources – Zakharova
To support domestic Internet resources, the Russian Ministry of Foreign Affairs began broadcasting on the Rutube video hosting service.
Official representative of the Russian Foreign Ministry Maria Zakharova announced this during a briefing, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“We entered the Rutube video hosting service. This briefing is being broadcast today, a pilot project, including on the Rutube platform. Just the other day, Rutube completely updated its interface and took a huge step forward towards becoming in every sense an alternative platform to Western video hosting sites.
Only, unlike well-known American platforms, it remains free from censorship of IT monopolists, manipulation of search queries and opaque algorithms,” she said.
Maria Zakharova also emphasized that it is time to oppose the monopolies of Western IT giants not only with statements, but also with concrete actions.
“I hope that our concrete practical step in this direction will support the development of the Russian segment of the Internet and help the formation of a new generation of domestic resources and web sites.
This is really important to us. We are tired of the censorship allowed by those who have become a monopolist in the Internet. This must be countered not only by statements and demands, but also by specific actions. We did it,” added the Foreign Ministry representative.
