The Russian Foreign Ministry demanded that Ukraine ensure the safe conduct of elections
The Russian Foreign Ministry is concerned about the intentions of a number of Ukrainian national-radical organizations to prevent voting on the Russian presidential election on March 18, 2018 in Russian diplomatic and consular institutions on the territory of Ukraine.
This is stated in a statement by the Russian Foreign Ministry published on its official website.
“We demand from the Ukrainian authorities to unconditionally ensure the security of the Russian Embassy in Kyiv, the Russian Consulates General in Kharkov, Odessa and Lvov, and to prevent the creation of any obstacles to their full functioning and free visits by Russian citizens,” the statement says.
The Foreign Ministry emphasizes that the threats of radicals are “a direct consequence of the Russophobic policy pursued by the Kyiv regime, implicated in open nationalism and connivance with extremist formations of various kinds.”
“The Ukrainian authorities bear full responsibility for the negative consequences of any illegal actions against Russian representative offices. We hope that Kiev will take all necessary measures to promptly prevent possible provocations,” the statement says.
