The Russian Foreign Ministry complained about the bullying of Bandera’s supporters
The attacks and persecution of parishioners and priests of the canonical UOC by schismatics cannot be called anything other than mockery on the part of the Kyiv regime.
Official representative of the Russian Foreign Ministry Maria Zakharova stated this during a briefing, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“In Ukraine, the offensive against the canonical Orthodox Church continues; almost daily there are reports of seizures of UOC churches. Since the beginning of this year, more than 30 similar cases have been recorded in 11 regions. Various nationalist and radical organizations, so to speak, the shock link of the entire regime, take an active part in violent actions.
The militants, in the presence of the local administration and police, break into everything connected with the property of the parishes, change the locks on doors and gates, throw priests and parishioners into the street, there is plenty of video footage. They are deprived of the opportunity to carry out appropriate rituals and ceremonies; in general, many are not allowed into temples. As a result, people are forced to perform worship directly in the open air in any weather,” said Zakharova.
“It can’t be called anything other than bullying. However, in general, one cannot expect a different attitude towards its fellow citizens from the Kyiv regime, which praises the inhumane acts of criminals like Bandera and Shukhevych at every corner,” she noted.
“But, apparently, the Kyiv authorities decided not to stop there. Recently, there have been increasing cases of UOC priests being called to preventive conversations with the SBU, where they are required to “voluntarily” join the so-called schismatic Orthodox Church of Ukraine, recently created on the orders of Poroshenko, with the support of the United States and the Patriarch of Constantinople.
Any attempts by the clergy of the UOC to tell the world the truth about the persecution of the canonical Church provoke a harsh reaction from the authorities and, again, from the same nationalist-oriented thugs,” Zakharova added.
