The Russian Foreign Ministry suggested that Ukraine lustrate Kremlin agents
Ukraine must finally present to the world a list of “Kremlin agents” who are to blame for everything bad that is happening in the country. Official representative of the Russian Foreign Ministry Maria Zakharova told reporters today.

“It would be right and honest if the Ukrainian side, which accuses Russia of influencing its domestic political decisions, publishes a list of people who are agents of the Kremlin. Let him take inventory of people. Maybe we need to carry out a second stage of lustration. For me this word itself is wild, but I need to somehow define it. Let them tell you which people in the Kyiv mayor's office or the Poroshenko administration, which opposition forces and radical organizations are working for Moscow. Let them honestly say which Ukrainian citizens they blame. Maybe there are some forces in the Rada. Is Lyashko also a Russian agent? Are people who deny our joint history also our agents?” Zakharova asked.
She recounted her dialogue with one of the employees of the Ukrainian Foreign Ministry, who said that in Kyiv they seriously believe that radical nationalists are connected with Moscow.
“It’s very strange to encourage radicals, to say that people in Donetsk and Lugansk are enemies, and when these radical elements reach the boiling point and move from words to concrete deeds, a blockade, to say that this is the “hand of Moscow,” Zakharova said.
According to her, Moscow has repeatedly warned Kyiv that encouraging nationalists is a dead end.
“Nationalism is an animal that constantly demands sacrifices. He constantly feeds on someone's blood. When the topic of southeast Ukraine runs out, and there are more and more problems, a new victim will be required. They will reach other nationalities, other social classes. The culprits will no longer be looked for in the Donbass, but in Kyiv and major cities,” Zakharova noted.
She believes that Kyiv should begin to work on “many years of mistakes”, abandon relying on radical forces, begin to search for national consensus, and stop tearing society apart, including on linguistic grounds.
“This is a colossal job. You can't get away with torches and nationalist slogans here. A lot of time has been lost, but it will only get worse. It is not the hand of Moscow, but the mechanism that was launched in Ukraine that led to the current results. But this is not the worst of what will happen. No one is putting a barrier on the path to ideological collapse; the process is only gaining momentum. You cannot endlessly feed the people with tales about a mythical enemy. This fairy tale will end very tragically at one point,” warned the representative of the Russian Foreign Ministry.
As PolitNavigator reported, the organizers of the blockade became “agents of the Kremlin” again, separating Donbass from Ukraine.
