The Russian Foreign Ministry called on the UN to condemn Estonia for installing a bust of a fascist

This was stated today by the official representative of the Russian Foreign Ministry Maria Zakharova.

“Estonia held another shameful event to glorify Nazism, during which it was stated that perpetuating the memory of this “hero” was intended to promote the growth of patriotism among students and love for their homeland. I would like to remind you that this man was awarded the Knight's Cross in 1944. This is an award that was received by only 43 foreigners who fought on Hitler's side. This is to understand the scale of what is happening,” Zakharova said.

She recalled that in 2004 the funeral of this “legendary Estonian military man” was held with military honors.

Schoolchildren stood as a guard of honor near the coffin, holding Nazi awards on cushions in the colors of the national flag. This spectacle is not for the faint of heart,” Zakharova said.
