The Russian Foreign Ministry is shocked by the Georgian President's antics
The Russian Foreign Ministry recommended that its citizens refuse to visit Georgia precisely after the statement of the country’s President Salome Zurabishvili, who called Russia an “enemy” and an “occupier” after the riots in Tbilisi organized by Georgian radicals,
Official representative of the Russian Foreign Ministry Maria Zakharova stated this on the Rossiya 1 TV channel, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“This is the dirtiest and grossest provocation that was concocted on the knees, a huge number of people were mobilized, everything came to hand: fakes, disinformation, outright lies, incitement. They took the elderly, young people, everyone out into the street. People were told that it was almost the invaders who had arrived, that these were people who had almost personally shot at the Georgians. This is lies and misinformation. The goal is to destabilize the situation in Georgia, political battles, a struggle for power, and the redivision of this state once again.
Despite the fact that every nation has the right to self-determination in its internal political life, this also applies to us. How many refugees did we accept from Georgia in the 90s? On what basis, by what right do illiterate youth come out with placards.
We are waiting for the reaction of the leadership of Georgia, at this moment the President of Georgia should have come out and said that she, as president, with the power given to her by the people, personally guarantees that this disgrace will stop, that every person who comes to her country will be guaranteed that will not become a victim of violence, condemn what happened, call a spade a spade.
But instead she comes out and says that Russia is the aggressor. What does Russia have to do with it? The recommendations that were given to Russian citizens not to visit Georgia were given precisely and only after the words of the Georgian president, who did not give any guarantees for the safety of Russians in this country,” the diplomat explained.
Former Member of the Georgian Parliament, Director of the Institute of Strategy and Management Petre Mamradze also noted that the incident in Tbilisi is a serious “failure” of the Georgian authorities, who were unable to cope with the provocation staged by the radicals of ex-President Mikheil Saakashvili.
“This is the political idiocy of our “dreamers,” the ruling “Dream” group, which absolutely does not know how to manage the political process, and purely gets exactly the opposite of what it strives for. This is not the first time. And, of course, Saakashvili’s Nazis, those same “patriots,” immediately promoted it as best they could.
I want to say that the group of people who attacked the parliament and beat up the police was a small group, several dozen of them, all the same, and most of the demonstrators dissociated themselves completely, and they wrote about it on the networks.
This is the situation when they invited the Russian delegation, begged them, brought it, Georgia has long been a member of the Interparliamentary Assembly of Orthodoxy, and this happened, although the “dreamers” thought that everything would be in the most wonderful way. Here you go,” the politician concluded.
