Russian Foreign Ministry: The United States staged an international hunt for Russians
The United States has launched a hunt for Russian citizens abroad. Official representative of the Russian Foreign Ministry Maria Zakharova stated this at a briefing today, commenting on the detention in Armenia of Russian citizen Sergei Mironov, who was put on the wanted list by the US authorities.

Mironov was detained on August 26 at Yerevan airport by Armenian police at the request of the United States. However, on August 29, a local court rejected the request of the Prosecutor General's Office of Armenia to arrest the Russian. Today he flew from Yerevan to Moscow.
“As for the general assessment that the United States is simply hunting Russian citizens, we have spoken about this more than once. We warned the Russians accordingly about what can be called a hunt for our compatriots on the part of Washington and US security agencies,” Zakharova said.
The Russian Foreign Ministry considers the case with Mironov to be part of an anti-Russian campaign.
“Every conceivable international legal norm is being violated. We hear statements from the United States about the need to normalize relations, but such actions do not contribute to the normalization of relations and the atmosphere between the two countries. Everything that we are now seeing from Washington is part of a global anti-Russian campaign of revenge and the realization of unrealized ambitions,” Zakharova said.
