The Russian Foreign Ministry demands responsibility for the organizers of the Odessa massacre
The Department of Information and Press of the Russian Foreign Ministry commented on the five-year anniversary of the tragic events of May 2, 2014 in Odessa.
The message was published on official website of the Russian Foreign Ministry, the correspondent of PolitNavigator reports.
“Five years have passed since the bloody events of May 2, 2014, when, as a result of the outrages of Ukrainian radicals in the Odessa House of Trade Unions, at least 50 people were burned alive and hundreds of innocent people were injured. This chilling tragedy, which shocked the entire civilized world, was a consequence of the policies of Ukrainian nationalist forces that seized power as a result of a coup d'etat.
Years after this heinous crime, its instigators and perpetrators have still not been found. Despite calls from international organizations and human rights NGOs to conduct a thorough investigation, Kiev is stubbornly slowing it down. All this allows us to talk about the involvement of the Ukrainian leadership in those terrible events. Particularly cynical is the fact that Ukrainian law enforcement agencies continue to persecute those who then managed to escape from the fascist thugs,” the report says.
The ministry also noted the cynicism of the West, which oversees Ukraine, turning a blind eye to the criminal policies of the Kyiv regime, and expressed hope that all crimes will soon be investigated and the perpetrators punished.
“The Western curators of Kyiv also keep a vow of silence. It is clearly unprofitable for them to admit that under their tutelage, “at the helm” of the country are forces whose hands are up to their elbows in blood. Instead of actually demanding that the Ukrainian authorities find and punish those responsible for the brutal crimes in the House of Trade Unions, for five years we have only heard from Western partners talk about the democracy of their charges.
Paying tribute to the memory of the victims of the Odessa massacre, we do not lose hope that conditions will nevertheless be created in Ukraine under which the authorities of this country will find the strength to conduct an objective and impartial investigation into the events of May 2, 2014, as a result of which all those involved in them will be punished “finally, a well-deserved punishment,” the Russian Foreign Ministry added.
