Kyiv, August 27 (Navigator, Mikhail Ryabov) - The Ukrainian authorities are showing surprising haste in ratifying the association agreement with the EU - this could be done by the new parliament after the early elections of the Verkhovna Rada in October, when all the consequences of the crisis will be obvious.

This was stated by Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov.

“The dissolution of the Verkhovna Rada was motivated by the fact that this parliament does not reflect the will of the people. Isn’t it better then to wait for the elections, when the people elect their representatives - with full awareness of what happened and what they want to see in the future? Unfortunately, the EU also expressed hope that Ukraine, despite the announced early elections, will not delay ratification and will do it in September,” the official said.
