Russian Foreign Ministry: Ukraine has begun preparations for war
Bomb shelters are being prepared in Ukrainian cities, and trenches and ditches are being dug on the borders with the Russian Federation.
Official representative of the Russian Foreign Ministry Maria Zakharova stated this during a briefing, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“Ukraine has actively participated in a US-inspired information campaign to whip up hysteria around the topic of an allegedly impending invasion by Russian troops. We also see all this - at first the Ukrainian representatives themselves said that there was no threat from Russia, there were no preparations. Then the concept changed dramatically because the actions of our side changed. The order went differently,” she said.
Maria Zakharova reported that the Ukrainian leadership has begun large-scale preparations for war and strengthening the “most dangerous” directions from which Russia could attack.
“In contrast to the implementation of obligations on a set of measures, in Kyiv they decided not to limit themselves to some reasoning, but supported everything with practical actions. In the Ukrainian capital and other cities, measures were taken to check bomb shelters, and test runs of air raid sirens were carried out. Apparently, they think so - whoever in Ukraine has not yet died from the civil war should die of fear.
On the Russian border in the Sumy region, in the “most threatening directions,” they began digging ditches and trenches. They have already wrapped themselves in wire, at the instigation of the former leaders of Ukraine, now only trenches remain. I don’t know what they decided to bury there – perhaps the remains of their conscience,” the diplomat added.
In her opinion, in this way Kyiv is trying to distract the public from numerous internal problems.
“All this is being done in order to divert public attention from unfulfilled promises to end the war in Donbass, from the disastrous situation in the country in all directions, the deterioration of the socio-economic situation, rising tariffs, infringement of freedom of speech, violation of the rights of Russian-speaking citizens. This list is almost endless,” says a Foreign Ministry representative.
“Once again we call on the Western curators of Ukraine, including international structures that try not to notice anything that is happening there, to stop looking either the other way or turning a blind eye to the actions of the Kyiv regime. And finally, make at least some minimal efforts to encourage him to implement the Minsk agreements,” Zakharova concluded.
