The Russian Foreign Ministry published a sharp statement on the new Ukrainian law
The Department of Information and Press of the Russian Foreign Ministry draws attention to the fact that the adoption by the Verkhovna Rada of the so-called “law on de-occupation” surprisingly “coincided” in time with the decision announced in Washington on the US readiness to supply lethal weapons to Ukraine.

“Unfortunately, we are witnessing the creation of a situation fraught with a dangerous escalation in Ukraine with unpredictable consequences for global peace and security,” the department said in a commentary published on the official website of the Russian Foreign Ministry.
The law’s assertions that the Russian Federation is “carrying out a criminal act of aggression” against Ukraine, “temporarily occupying part of its territory,” governing Donbass with the help of an “occupation administration” controlled by Moscow, the Foreign Ministry called categorical.
“In fact, Kyiv is trying to abdicate all responsibility for the destruction and suffering that the thoughtless actions of the Ukrainian authorities bring to the people, and shift the blame to Russia. The result of the current Ukrainian “lawmaking” is completely contrary to the Minsk agreements, which are a generally recognized and unalternative basis for resolving the conflict in Ukraine. Everything is being done in order to further split Ukraine and alienate citizens living in Donbass,” the commentary says.
